Spafford Cancels New Year’s Run In New York City & Philadelphia Due To COVID-19

Spafford will no longer end 2021 with shows at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre on December 29 and at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia on December 30 and December 31 (New Year’s Eve). The Arizona-based quartet canceled the three-night New Year’s Run in the wake of COVID-19 cases spiking due to the quick spread of the Omicron variant.

“Due to the rising number of COVID cases and out of consideration for the health and safety of our band & crew, venue partners and extended communities, we feel strongly that this is the right decision to make at this moment,” wrote Spafford in a statement announcing the cancelations. The band noted New Year’s Eve holds a special place in their hearts as the group’s first show as Spafford took place on December 31, 2009. “We love our fans and sincerely apologize for disrupting travel plans,” added Spafford.
