Hand Habits unveiled “No Difference,” the second single from the forthcoming Fun House album, as well as a video for the track. The project led by multi-instrumentalist Meg Duffy will release Fun House through Saddle Creek on October 22.
Duffy teamed with producer Sasami Ashworth and engineer Kyle Thomas to record the 11-track LP at a studio space in the same Los Angeles building as a house the three shared. “Every day, in this house I was spending all of my time in, I was hearing them make music,” Meg told Paste in a new interview. “Finally, I was like, ‘Damn, that sounds good. I guess I have to make another record.’”
Meg is joined by James Krivchenia and Daniel Aged on “No Difference.” The track also features vocals from Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas), Christian Lee Hutson, Griffin Goldsmith and Ashworth.
Duffy shared the following regarding “No Difference” on their Instagram page:
Excited to share my personal favorite track on Fun House, “No Difference”. With this song, I was trying to capture the cyclical essence of projection and how it can really block authentic connection. (….I think? Songs seem to change and develop lives of their own with time…my wish is that you project your own life experience onto the song and make it your own)
This video is close to my heart, as the guy on the motorcycle happens to be my father, Dan Duffy. Everything just worked out that day. It was 4th of July, and Dad suggested going to his ‘spiritual place’ that has a panoramic view of the Mohawk valley. Filming the bike scenes was the first time I got on the back of the bike with him, and when I first saw this footage that V and Adam captured I was speechless.
