Greensky Bluegrass Releases ‘Absence Of Reason’ Single

Greensky Bluegrass shared a new single entitled “Absence Of Reason.” The track will appear on the band’s upcoming new studio album, Stress Dreams.

The 13-song LP is set for release on January 21 through Thirty Tigers/Big Blue Zoo Records. GSBG previously shared the Stress Dreams singles, “Monument” and “Grow Together.”

The band performed “Absence Of Reason” for the first time during their show at Red Rocks on September 18. They have played it a few times since its debut, including their most recent show on November 27 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Mandolinist Paul Hoffman shared a statement regarding “Absence Of Reason”:

“I want all the songs to be really close to my heart but sometimes when I’m a little detached there’s more freedom to explore the potential. I just loved this interval and all the chord flips that create tonal ambiguity. songs like this always become surprise favorites for me. somehow, free from emotional attachment, they become quintessential Greensky. this song feels like an example of an idea defined by a band. what once was simple, is now unique.”
