The film “Denial” (2016) — based on Deborah Lipstadt’s book History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier — dramatizes a riveting legal battle, centered on the existence of the Holocaust. Lipstadt, a professor of Jewish and Holocaust Studies, was called on to defend herself in a libel suit brought against her and her publisher by British author David Irving, whom Lipstadt had called “one of the most dangerous spokespersons for Holocaust denial.”

Directed by Mick Jackson, this historical drama stars Rachel Weisz, Tom Wilkinson, and
Timothy Spall.

Join host and moderator Tim Lawton, on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 7:00. Doors will open 10 minutes before the start of the film. Light refreshments and discussion will follow the screening for approximately an hour. Run time for the movie is 1 hour, 50 minutes, and it is rated PG-13. The film will be shown in the Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library’s Community Room, Friday, June 30, 7:00 p.m.
