The Tivoli Free Library, Mid-Hudson Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and the Tivoli Green Committee will be presenting, Saving Snow.
Saving Snow is a feature documentary on how ski towns are coping with warmer winters. Across the country, people who depend on winter for their livelihood are feeling the heat. On the sidelines of skiing and snowboarding, an epic struggle to reverse rising temperatures is unfolding.Ski towns and the snow sports industry are paving the way towards a clean energy future.
This is the second film created by independent filmmaker Diogo Castro Freire as part of the Adaptation Now documentary project. Diogo toured the Eastern Seaboard with his first climate movie Facing the Surge and is hoping to reach an even broader audience with his new effort.
Also being presented will be a short film, Sea-level Rise: Planning for Coastal Development, done by the NYS DEC on the effect rising sea levels are having on the on the Hudson River.
