Dutchess Activist Fair
The Dutchess Activist Fair will take place on Saturday, April 8, from 2-4pm, at Poughkeepsie Day School (260 Boardman Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY). The Fair, organized as a follow-up to the Poughkeepsie Women’s March Across the Hudson, will connect new and seasoned activists to local advocacy organizations, political parties and activist groups. The event features a mix of tabling and workshop sessions to help people learn about organizations, make connections, and attain information and skills that they can use to take action. Scheduled workshops include: Canvassing for Voter Registration; Organizing Institutions: How to Build a Hate Free Zone; Courageous Conversations about Race and Implicit Bias; Lobbying for Climate; Voting Rights and Money in Politics; How to Create an “Indivisible” Group; New York Civics; Creating ACLU Freedom Cities/Sanctuaries in the Hudson Valley; Advocacy 101; How to Run for Office and more.
