This event is not a race; it is designed for those who wish to challenge their physical abilities to the maximum while enjoying beautiful back country roads in the Catskill Mountains. The 55-mile course features five hefty hills and 5000’ feet of elevation gain, with portions of the ascent of Cross Mountain exceeding 20 percent. There will be feed station support-and mechanical and vehicular support as needed. Many of the gravel roads are seasonal roads, so rough climbing and descending should be expected. The Crusher also serves as timely stepping stone event for cyclists who plan on riding the Farmer’s Daughter Gravel Grinder in May and the Black Fly Challenge in June.
The event starts and finishes at the Catskill Recreation Center (CRC). The first 130 registrants will receive a Cross Mountain Crusher Beer Glass and t-shirt. All participants will receive a free meal after the event. Post-ride food and beverage will be available to purchase for friends and family of riders.
