The African Roots Center uplifts the history and culture of Black, Indigenous and People of Color. We do so with programs for children, teens and adults, through our Library collection, and by making our space available to community groups and organizations that share our commitment to the advancement of historical knowledge, cultural enrichment, civic engagement and social justice. And everything we provide to the community is free.
Right now, the African Roots Center is providing free books, outdoor book lending, outdoor story time, arts & crafts supplies and online programming. We are a partner in the Kingston Emergency Food Collaborative, which is getting meals and groceries to individuals and families in the community who are struggling with food insecurity.
To support our work, friends of the African Roots Center are reaching out to the community to raise $15,000 between now and July 4.
