The Poughkeepsie Mini Maker Faire, presented by Poughkeepsie Day School in association with the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, is an eclectic event that celebrates what the Mid-Hudson Valley is inventing, making and creating. It brings together makers, crafters, farmers, inventors, hackers, scientists and artists of all ages in one place for learning, play, spectacle and inspiration. Click here (https://poughkeepsie.
Maker Faire director, Ike Shaw had this to say: “Poughkeepsie Day School is thrilled to be presenting the only Maker Faire in the mid-Hudson Valley in association with the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum (MHCM). They will be rolling out the Young Makers Pavilion, which will feature more than a dozen hands-on experiences especially for children ages 3 to 10.”
Are you a Maker?
We’re looking for established and emerging “makers” from the mid-Hudson Valley and beyond for this family-friendly celebration featuring rockets and robots, DIYscience and technology, urban farming and sustainability, alternative energy, unique hand-made crafts, music and local food, and educational workshops and installations. The more interactive and hands-on, the better.
The first round of the Call for Makers ends on October 31. Space is limited – any groups or individuals interested in participating in this amazing event should complete the applications asap!
