Please join the Pine Plains Free Library on Friday Sept. 5, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Graham-Brush House in Pine Plains, NY (located behind Peck's Market) for a free program entitled "A Revolutionary War Soldier Comes to Life". Mr. Neil Murray, a history teacher in the Pine Plains School District and experienced re-enactor and military historian, will cover head to toe the material culture of the Revolutionary War soldier. From shoes to muskets, shirts to tomahawks, participants will walk away with a general understanding of a soldier presented in an engaging way that is easily understood from children to adults. With his extensive background in education, Mr. Murray will present material in a way only a teacher can. The Graham-Brush House, an authentic 18th century log house, is the perfect backdrop for a hands-on program like this. Period refreshments will be served. This is the lead-in program for our Pine Plains Colonial History Day which will take place on Saturday Sept. 13. For information please call the library at 518-398-1927.
