A bit of history pertinent to this musical production, you may find interesting: On the NYCA, New York Conservatory for the Arts, property stands a little yellow house that is actually an old official's booth along side what is one of the United States' first official soccer fields. The great history is that Pele and countless European, South American and local footballers played on the site back when it was Oehler's Mountain Lodge. We are shaking the history awake this coming January as we present Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton's musical THE BOYS IN THE PHOTOGRAPH - just released in the US, though over a decade old...the tale of a catholic soccer team and the ragged war-torn lives that are shaped through the IRA/Protestant battle years 1969 through the 1970s. In Ulster County, what could be a finer slice of history from both shores? Tip of the hat to the Irish struggle, centuries old, the ghosts of their passion, the breath of their ancestors, and a company whose performances wake the heart.
