ive at the Library presents Kirsti Gholson & Tom Mank, and the Catskill Mountain Renaissance Consort. The Catskill Mountain Renaissance Consort, a local ensemble, primarily perform early music but often have some surprises. Members are: Gregory Dinger on guitar, Mary Leonard on recorders, Karen Levine on percussion, and Karen Sahulka on viola da gamba. Tom Mank, an independent singer-songwriter, has played in folk, blues, and bluegrass bands. His eloquent writing of instrumentals is contrasted well with his poetic lyrics. His latest CD, “Paper Kisses" has received rave reviews. Kirsti Gholson is a singer-songwriter and animal rights activist. She sings harmony with Tom and others, is a member of Prana and writes her own dreamy, poetic, pop songs. Her recent album, “the summer I stopped whining” was called “the best regional recording of the year...a thoughtful, quiet masterpiece” by David Malachowski of the Daily Freeman. Admission is free.
