On Saturday August 4, 2012 Pets Alive, a no-kill animal rescue organization, will host a charity Poker Run to benefit the animals. The community is invited to take a ride for the animals and become a partner in rescue with Pets Alive.
The fun begins at O’Toole’s Harley Davidson in Wurtsboro, NY. Registration is from 10:30 AM until Noon with a $25.00 donation per bike, $10.00 per passenger. People are encouraged to pre-register on Petsalive.org and they will receive a free t-shirt. A scenic, back road, 95 mile ride will end with an after party at The Carriage House in Barryville, NY.
The after party will feature food, cash bar, music by DJ Danny Salgado and entertainment by street magician and mentalist, Chris Dare. Proceeds will benefit the lifesaving work of Pets Alive.
Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary is the oldest and largest no kill animal rescue in the United States. Pets Alive has expanded from its 80 acres in Middletown, NY to Pets Alive Westchester (formerly the Elmsford Animal Shelter) located in Elmsford, NY. Also, in 2011 Pets Alive opened a sanctuary and bed and breakfast rescue retreat in Puerto Rico to eradicate the abuse and neglect of companion animals that is common in Puerto Rico.
